Description:
Standard early configuration W&F Bern Model 1882 Swiss Military Revolver with thin top strap, chambered in 7.5mm, having a 6" octagonal barrel with fixed front and notched rear sight. Waffenfabrik Bern logo on left side of frame under the full serial number 6744, the serial number repeated on left side of barrel and cylinder axle, ejector rod, hammer, and trigger. Separate assembly numbers on various parts most notably ‘12558’. Original hard rubber grips, left panel molded with Swiss Cross enclosed by checkered field. Single transverse screw. Lanyard ring present. This example decommissioned in 1919 as marking on the left side of the frame. Complete with original leather holster dated 03.
Condition:
98-99% original rust blue finish. Comparable or slightly less condition straw with thinning and areas of discoloration as one might expect of a Military Revolver over 100 year. Crisp grips with sharp checkering a few slightly blunted areas on the right panel. Mirror bright bore. Correct manual mechanics with each cylinder locking up tightly on full cock. G holster with intact stitching. It would be very hard to improve up this early Swiss 1882 Military Revolver, particularly one that qualifies as an ANTIQUE!
