The Beaumont Adams percussion revolvers were a favorite of British officers who had to privately purchase their side arms. This 442 caliber octagon barrel has a very good bore with strong rifling and moderate firing wear. The revolver retains approx. 97% of an old expertly applied refinish and the hammer and trigger are bright. The top of the action is stamped ROBERT ADAMS 76 KING WILLIAM STREET LONDON. The right side of the frame above the trigger is stamped ADAMS BEAUMONT, No. 4qq28 (indistinct). The checkered wood grips are fine with very little wear. This revolver has a sliding safety on the right side which locks cylinder rotation. The action functions correctly. This nice looking Beaumont Adams revolver was most likely the prized possession of a British officer.
