"Devisme Model 1854 Percussion Revolver (AH5092)
Description: "Devisme Model 1854 Percussion Revolver. Approximately .35 caliber six shot. Devisme was very innovative with regard to gun design, decoration and was awarded silver medals in 1839, 1841, 1855, 1862, and 1867. The cylinder has one of Devisme inventions, having steel pillars with tiny holes for the percussion cap fire to reach special cartridges (paper with powder base) to rest on the pillar. This would allow for front loading of the cartridge. Barrel length 6" and 13" overall length. Bore is excellent. Gun has 92-95% blue. Grips are near excellent. This is a rare example of just one of Louis-Francois Devimes’ inventions and it is in excellent overall condition. SOLD Antique: Yes |
