This revolver is very similar to the Tranter 5th Pattern also known as Tranter Adams Kerr Revolver with the barrel forged integral with the frame. The overall length is approx. 12.25"". The 6"" octagon 42 caliber barrel with Birmingham proofs has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The five-shot cylinder is proofed at each chamber. The frame is lightly engraved with foliate scrolls. The frame and loacing lever are marked ""Tranters Patent"" in an oval.. The frame and barrel have approx. 90% blue. The cylinder, trigger guard, trigger, and butt cap have a smooth brown patina. The checkered grips are excellent with no chips or cracks. The action works perfectly. This revolver is equipped with a pivoting cylinder lock on the right side of the frame. A small projection on the front enters one ot the five stop holes in the rear of the cylinder. This very fine Tranter revolver would be a great fit in any British percussion revolver collection.
