Description: An Early Civil War Colt Model 1855 (5A) Percussion Root Revolver In Fine Plus Condition. Serial #2,908, made in early 1861. All matching numbers, all original and complete. The pistol has fine metal and markings throughout. It also has fine edges, and a 4 1/2 inch barrel on it. The revolver retains alot of its original factory blue finish on it which is fading to a plum brown patina in small areas. The original factory grips are excellent plus throughout with a wonderful color and factory finish still on them. This early colt revolver has a fine action and bore. This Is A Very Fine & Early Example Of A Civil War Colt Model 1855 (5A) Root Revolver With A 4 1/2 Inch Barrel That Would Be A Fine Addition To Any Collection. They Were Often carried By Officers & Soldiers On Both Sides During The War!
