Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver That Was Period Refurbished At The Factory During Its Life
Description: A Very Early Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver That Was Period Refurbished At The Factory During Its Life In Excellent Condition. It has a very early serial #3,692 which of course should be a flutted army and was originally made in early 1861. I have found out that this revolver did go back to the Colt Factory at one time to have repairs done on it. My guess is that the flutted cylinder was blown and then replaced with a regular army cylinder. The revolver was then refurbished where needed and sent back to where it came from. The Colt Army has excellent metal, markings, and edges. It also has an excellent cylinder scene and has all matching numbers on it. It has excellent blue on the barrel & cylinder that was definitely done when the revolver was refurbished. The excellent and vivid case colors on the frme, hammer, and loading lever are original from when the gun had a flutted cylinder. All the screws are also excellent. The brass trigger guard is fine throughout. It is marked "44 CAL". The grips are excellent plus and full throughout. They fit perfectly and have a wonderful color to them. The revolver has an excellent and tight action. The rifled bore is also excellent. This Is A Great Example Of A Very Early Civil War Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver That Was Period Refurbished At The Factory During Its Life In Excellent Condition. This Colt Army Came From A Very Old Collection And Would Be A Fine Addition To Any New Colt Collection!
