COLT MODEL 1861 NAVY MANF. IN 1865- -.36 CALIBER
Description: This is a Model 1861 Navy Colt percussion Revolver. Six (6) shot. with an 7.5" barrel. Has a very good bore. Action and lockup is tight and indexes properly. All numbers match the serial number #12961, including the wedge, arbor and grips. Manufactured in 1865, at the end of the Civil War. Blued/ casehardened finish, walnut grips. Fine overall 40% bright original high blue finish on the bottom half of barrel, mostly blued and brown patina on the balance, excellent cylinder scene, flattened safety pins, minor oxidation/pitting. Screw heads are nice. Grip has strong original varnish and is in excellent condition. , Has only mild lower edge wear and some scattered light scratches and marks. Marked "COLTS/PATENT" on left side of frame. Marked "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-". Also marked on cylinder is:"COLTS PATENT No. 961.
