Description: Manufactured on contract by the U.S. Government in 1863. The revolver has the three screw frame cut for a shoulder stock and iron back strap. Comes with Archive Letter. The top of the barrel has the standard one line New York address, with "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame. The cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas naval battle scene and stamped with two inspector initials and the partial serial number (9077). Inspector initial "D" also found top of the back strap and on the brass trigger guard. Matching serial number on barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, grip and wedge.,with the partial serial number, "9077", on the cylinder Fitted with an original oil finished walnut grip stamped with a clear cartouche on each side. 8" barrel with an excellent bright bore. ,44 caliber percussion.The trigger guard has a smooth darkened aged patina. The cylinder scene is excellent and still has most of the "engagement Date" present. Excellent nipples and safety pins are all intact! The grip is very good with correct raised feathered wood grain, a few minor chips . The cartouches are excellent.! Mechanically excellent!
