#4970 Colt SA 7-1/2”x44WCF, 128XXX range (1889), VG/VG+ bore, about a 7-7+ on a scale of 10 and having a tight smooth action with all the clicks on the hammer. The metal is very fine and smooth with virtually no pitting at all and retains some good amounts of 970% coverage of a 30% density) thin plum blue-brown patina and some FAINT cloudy grey-browns on the frame …although admittedly, my initial inclination is that this could be a very well-done cosmetic “bottle-blue” upgrade, especially when these highly sought after early S/As most often have had something done during their long lifetimes to enhance their appearances. Fine markings with good roll-die “COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER” barrel logo, VG standard hard rubber grips with 10-15% wear overall and a very handsome appearance. Far above the average Single Actions that are usually found priced in this same price range.VG++ $3250
