This Eagle Arms Co. front loading, cup-primed 30 caliber revolver was manufactured circa mid-1860s by the Eagle Arms Co. , New York. It was marketed by the Plant Manufacturing Co. and is often identified as a Plant Pocket model. Most were five shot with the exception of the six shot Eagle Arms Co. 3.5"" octagon ribbed barrel guns like this one. The top of the barrel on this revolver is marked EAGLE ARMS CO. NEW YORK. The bore is fine with bright, strong rifling. The brass frame is very good with a couple areas of original silver plating. The barrel and cylinder have a smooth brown patina. The rosewood grips are fine with much original finish. The bottom of the grip strap has APC stamped in small letters just forward of the serial number. The action works correctly and the cylinder indexes properly. This is a very interesting revolver that, due to its unique ammunition, only lasted a few years.
