FOREHAND & WADSWORTH .22 Short Revolver F&W Pocket Carry Antique 1870s 7-Shot .22 RF SELF DEFENSE Revolver Here we present an antique Forehand & Wadsworth Side Hammer Revolver Pocket Revolver, manufactured circa the 1870s. This revolver features 7 shots of .22 Rimfire and would have been an alternative to the Colt Open Top or the S&W No. 1 revolvers, which were popular for tiny hideout guns of the time. This design goes back to Ethan Allen’s original design and was manufactured by Allen’s sons-in-law: Sullivan Forehand & Henry C. Wadsworth. One of the most distinctive features of this revolver is the side-mounted hammer. The left side of the barrel is marked “FOREHAND & WADSWORTH WORCESTER, MASS./PATS SEPT. 24 & OCT.22.1861”. The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish. The action is excellent. The bore is in good condition. The grips are solid. The numbers match. A very neat little 7-Shot .22! Own the original!
