Allen & Wheelock .44 Lipfire Army Low Number
Description: Serial #32, .44 Lipfire, 7 1/2" part octagon barrel with a very good bore. This is an above average revolver that retains maybe a hint of its original finish with the balance turned to a smooth gray and plum-brown patina. The walnut grips are both numbered to the gun on the interior, as well as some minor handling marks and blemishes present on both panels. The name D. Plummer is carved into the inside of one panel (see pic). The action is tight and fully functional. Only a few of these revolvers were ever made, with estimates in ranging from 250 – 500, before a S&W suit brought production to a halt due to patent infringement. This example is in above average condition, and would make a stellar addition to any collection. Further research on the individual whose name is carved on the inside of grips might turn out to be very interesting. Further research should be conducted. I offer a layaway and will consider trades.
