Antique Allen & Wheelock 22 .22 Cal 7 Shot SA 2.5" Oct BRL Made 1858-65
Description: The Allen & Wheelock .22 caliber revolver is a seven-shot, single-action spur-trigger side-hammer design produced between approximately 1858 and 1865. It features a 2.5-inch octagonal barrel with fixed sights and a compact frame typical of the period. The revolver’s metal surfaces show an aged gray patina consistent with its antique status. The cylinder bears ornate engraving, and the overall configuration reflects Allen & Wheelock’s early rimfire revolver style. The revolver is used and retains its original smooth wood grips, which display age-appropriate handling marks but no noted cracks. The bore is dark from age and use, and the mechanical action functions with proper timing for a firearm of its era. Serial number 972 is stamped on the underside of the barrel. The finish and markings exhibit the wear and coloration expected of mid-19th-century production pieces, with visible patina across the steel components. Included are the revolver itself with its engraved cylinder and original wood grips. No additional accessories or packaging are specified. The piece represents an Allen & Wheelock rimfire revolver manufactured during the late 1850s to mid-1860s, identifiable by its seven-shot cylinder, spur trigger, and octagonal barrel configuration. SOLD Handgun Caliber: .22 Short Manufacturer: Allen & Wheelock Model: 22 Serial Number: 972 Barrel Length: 2.5 Octagon Chambers: 7 Condition: Good Metal Condition: Good Wood Condition: Very Good Bore Condition: Dark |
