ANTIQUE MARLIN 38 STANDARD 1878 S.A. 5 ROUND .38 SMITH & WESSON REVOLVER With HOLSTER. NO FFL.

Description:
I'm selling my collection. Here is an Antique J.M. Marlin 38 Standard 1878 Single Action Pocket Revolver. Made c. 1876 to 1887. Total quantity estimated  about 12,000, chambered for .38 Smith & Wesson centire fire. 3-1/4" round ribbed tip-up barrel with a good shinny bore with sharp rifling with very light spots of erosion. Five-shot fluted cylinder with clean chambers. Solid steel frame with spur trigger and flat butt with serial number: "8134". Original nickel finish rates 75% few small flaking with very pinprick erosion. Will come with its well fitted leather holster. Original brown hard rubber grip in excellent condition with relief initials in panel at top: "J.M.M." on early production (very collectible). Barrel markings on the left side : "J.M. Marlin. New Haven. Ct. U.S.A. Pat. July1.1873. Barrel marked on the top : "38 Standard 1878". In a good working condition, cylinder turns with the appropriate timing. Flayderman's Guide 1979 Ed. priced it exc. at $750. The original .38 Smith & Wesson bullets showed on the pictures are not for sale. What you don't read in the description is visible on the pictures. I described it to the best of my knowledge. Please don't ask for extra pictures.
