Description: c1858 Antique ALLEN & WHEELOCK w CYLINDER SCENE With Good Dog Rabbit Chase Cylinder Scene! Here we present an antique Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer Revolver in .32 Rimfire, made circa 1858 in Worcester, Massachusetts. There we 8 different variants of this revolver and only 1,500 are thought to have been made total, making this a very scarce little revolver. The most immediately eye-catching feature on this revolver is the side-mounted hammer on the right side of the gun. The next is the cylinder scene featuring a pastoral scene with a farmhouse amidst fields and trees with dogs chasing rabbits in the foreground. The overall condition is very good. Strong traces of blue finish remain amidst an even gray patina. The markings are clear. The cylinder scene is in very good condition. The grips show mild wear around the bottom skirt and are in nice shape. The bore is in good condition with sharp rifling. The action remains strong. A neat little early cartridge revolver from one of the most prolific makers, with a nice cylinder scene! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches.
