Description:
For the most part, armed American Plains Indian resistance to the U.S. government ended at the Wounded Knee Massacre December 29, 1890, and in the subsequent Drexel Mission Fight the next day. Documentation is included for this revolver used by Oglala Sioux warriors named Chase in Winter (killed at Wounded Kee) and his son Crane at Drexel Mission.

Colt antique. #18037; 38c cal. w/factory letter showing ship dated of 1880 to St. Louis MO.

Gun has 3 1/2" bbl,
spotted grey patina & mechanically does not always properly index or cycle.
Checkered grips & right grip having 3 large battle marks.
This gun was researched by Wendel Grangaard in Dec 2016 & comes w/extensive research on firearm & how it is identified w/marks on the revolver. The Drexel Mission Fight occurred the day after the Wounded Knee Masacre & was the last battle of the Plains Indian Wars.

A good Colt revolver w/fantastic includes 21 page documentation placing it in one of the most famous & notorious times of the Indian Wars.
