Colt Lightning 1877, .38 caliber, 4 1/2" barrel, Beautiful model
Description: ***SOLD 9-15-20*** Here we have a stunning Colt Lightning 1877, also referred to as the M1877. The M1877 was the first successful US-made double-action cartridge revolver. This gun has the 4 ½ inch barrel, chambered in .38 caliber and was manufactured in 1893. (Antique - no FFL required). This revolver is in beautiful shape, blued finish with case colored frame that is still in very nice condition, the grips are near perfect, ejector rod present and the action is tight. This is a very nice condition collectible revolver. All markings are clear and visible. The barrel has the Colt address and the frame is marked with Colt's patent dates. The Colt rampant horse icon is very clear on grips and frame. You can almost smell the gun powder and whiskey with this gun, most famous for being carried by John Henry "Doc" Holliday and made even more recognizable on the big screen as Hollywood used the Colt Lightning in many Old West Cowboy movies and television shows. The M1877 is smaller framed model often seen alongside the M1878 in .44 caliber (refer to our other listings for the M1878). See photos for other condition details and feel free to contact us with any questions! This firearm does not include any accessories.
