COLT SAA "CIVILIAN" REVOLVER .45, W/LTR.
Description: This is a very nice antique Colt Single Action Army, Model 1873, made in 1883, in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt SAA has become one of the most iconic firearms in history, especially with regards to the American West and in film This Colt SAA comes with Colt factory archive letter, stating that it was shipping to E.C. Meacham Arms Company, St. Louis Missouri, on October 6, 1883 in a shipment of like arms. The letter confirms the 4.75 inch barrel length and shipped with factory blued finish. This revolver has the Colt Black Powder frame that preceded the more modern “smokeless” frame. The revolver is chambered for .45 Colt, the venerable man-stopping cartridge adopted by the U.S. military in the late 19th Century. The top of the barrel reads “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO./HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.” The left side of the frame is marked “PAT.SEPT.19.1871/JULY 2.72. JAN 19.75”. The front left of the trigger guard bow is marked “45 CAL”. The overall condition is very good . The blued & patina finish is about 65% present. Has a few small marks in metal finish. Markings are clear and legible. All serial numbers match, including the cylinder, which bears the initials of government inspector David F. Clark, and It is possible that this was a surplus part from a government contract that Colt used on a civilian gun or a Buy-Back revolver that was refinished and sent to the commercial market. The varnished walnut grip is in excellent condition, showing handling marks and some sharp edge wear. The bore is well-rifled and clean. The action is strong. Buyer Pays $25.00 shipping to the lower 48 states. International shipping is $90.00 for Express Shipping to most locations, plus a $20.00 Bank Wire Fee. I accept USPS Money Orders or Bank Cashier's Check. Will accept Personal check, with shipping hold. Add 3% for Credit Card Purchase. Layaway Available! Three day non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period. If returned, for any reason, full refund less shipping.
