Excellent O.S. Cummings Pocket Revolver Lowell, Mass 22 RF Antique
Description: Serial/batch #L12, .22 Rim Fire, 3 1/8 inch round, ribbed barrel with a very fine bore with light pitting and good rifling. This is the 7 shot pocket revolver that was identical to the Smith & Wesson No. 1, 3rd issue manufactured by O.S. Cummings in Lowell, Massachusetts from 1870 to 1880 with some estimated 1,000 produced. This excellent example has the desirable "O.S. Cummings Lowell, Mass" marking on the top strap and retains about 94-96% of the original nickel finish with minor flaking at the muzzle and on the cylinder, some screw slot wear and other use marks. All numbers match on the frame, cylinder and with the rosewood grips, which rate excellent, pencil marked on the left panel. Mechanically the gun functions properly. Not often found in high condition this would make a great addition to any collection. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
