Exceptional Smith & Wesson .44 Double Action First Model Target Revolver Inscribed!
Description:
This is a absolutely fantastic High Condition Smith & Wesson First Model Double Action .44 with an ultra rare target front sight. The backstrap has an inscription; "Norman Ballantine, Denver, Colo". My assumption this was some kind of target shooters prize however I have not been able to find out who he is or what exactly the inscription was for. This is by far one of the best First Model Double Action's Ive seen and had the pleasure of handling. The entire revolver shows approximately 90% blue finish, the hammer and trigger show nice case colors, the barrel has a bit of thinning on the underside that extends out toward the muzzle area. The bore is virtually mint and appears new. The grips are fantastic condition also. Matching serial numbers. The front sight has what I believe an ivory bead. Mechanically this Smith & Wesson appears to function excellent and as it should. This is an extremely interesting Smith & Wesson that with further research may turn something up! If you have any questions or need any other photos feel free to ask, you can email, call, or text anytime. Thank you! Shipping is $25 plus actual insurance.
