Merwin, Hulbert & Co. Third Model Army Revolver with Ivory Grips & Extra Barrel
Description: Serial #21753, .44 M&H, 7" barrel with a very good bore that has areas of minor freckling along its length; 3 1/4" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This revolver has matching assembly numbers (770) on the frame, cylinder, and 7" barrel, with 75-80% of the original nickel finish remaining, and small spots of dark plum-brown freckling scattered about the balance where the nickel has flaked away. There are some patches of mild pitting along the top of the barrel and along the topstrap as well. The short barrel was numbered to match at some point but the numbers are in a different font. So we have to assume it was not numbered at the factory when it was built. The short barrel has more of the original nickel remaining, but still has small spots of plum-brown freckling scattered about. The hammer has traces of muted color case-hardening remaining with mottled brown freckling on the balance. The period ivory grips are in good-very good shape having mellow age-toning on either panel, as well as dark hairline cracks, mainly at the butt and on the right panel. The mechanism is fully functional and the revolver rates good-very good condition overall. Antique; Price: $4,450.00 Contact Seller |
