This gorgeous gun features beautiful ivories and has about 95-97% original finish remaining, with only a small patch of peeled off nickel under the barrel near front sight. Trigger guard and hammer have visible case hardening. Action is crisp and tight, bore is shiny with strong rifling with some scattered peppering that should clean up. This would have been a $6000+ gun if somebody didnt mess up serial numbers. Looks like it was a 4 digit serial, probably an early Second Model or a transitional First model with Second model locking hammer. Because all of these guns were made pre-1880, the serial number situation doesnt matter for law enforcement, only for collectors value. No license needed to buy except NJ and NY residents. PRICE IS FIRM.
