Factory conversion, made from Colt's factory stock, arms not yet assembled or numbered. Parts left from percussion pistol production. SN 1479 matching. 5 1/2 " barrel, 38 RF. 1871-72 patent dates on left side of frame. 36 Cal. marked on left trigger guard. VG barrel markings, VG scene on cyl. Believe this was made from a pocket Navy barrel, thus the 5 1/2" barrel. Mech VG. Wood good, 50% orig varnish, shows some minor dings from use, small piece missing from corner of left grip. Original nickel plate, 75-80%, shows some dings from use and handling. These along with 1851 Navy conversions were assigned SNs 1-3800, shared with 1861 Navy conversions. Unknown exactly how many were made. Am not a Colt expert. This is the best info. I can come up with. If you are a Colt collector, you must have this gun! Fairly priced at $2950.00, cashiers check or MO. Price incl. shipping in US.
