Rare ENGRAVED Antique MARLIN XXX Standard 1872 .32 Cal. RF POCKET Revolver
FANCY WILD WEST Pocket Revolver
Description: Rare ENGRAVED Antique MARLIN XXX Standard 1872 .32 Cal. RF POCKET Revolver FANCY WILD WEST Pocket Revolver Here we present an antique Factory Engraved Marlin XXX Standard 1872 Pocket Revolver, made circa 1873-76 in New Haven, Connecticut. This variant features a round-ribbed barrel and short cylinder flutes. About 10,000 of these revolvers were produced. The revolver bears much resemblance to Smith & Wesson’s pioneer top-hinge cartridge revolvers. These were designed to be carried in a pocket for self-protection in a self-reliant 19th Century America. Firepower was 5 shots of .32 rimfire. Though this nice little spur trigger was made around 10 years after the close of the Civil War, handguns like this were commonly privately purchased by soldiers for use on the battlefield. Whether legend or fact, it is interesting to note something commonly read about pocket revolvers of the day: that while they could be used for self-defense against the enemy, many soldiers kept them on their person to defend themselves against an unwanted amputation in the primitive field hospitals that were notorious, even in their day. The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish has been preserved. Excellent action. The bore is clear and remains in good shape. Both mother of pearl grips are luminescent with a light amount of handling. The left grip is missing a ship from the top. Sharp engravings. Numbers match. Legible markings. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3 inches. Caliber: .32 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1750 #220071 SOLD Antique: Yes |
