SMITH & WESSON
ENGRAVED RUSSIAN REVOLVER, LETTERED-SHIPPED 1876
Description: A SMITH & WESSON ENGRAVED THIRD MODEL RUSSIAN, IN FINE CONDITION BEAUTIFULLY PERIOD ENGRAVED in the fancy scroll, New York style... the barrel and frame retaining about 60% Old Nickel. The Engraving and Markings remain Crisp, the barrel was reduced to 4.8 inches during it's period of use and the bore has distinct rifling, the revolver is excellent mechanically. The lovely Old Pearl grips show deep color from age, with some tiny losses at the edges. Included is the Smith & Wesson Historic Factory letter stating, serial # 44179 shipped to Schyler, Hartley & Graham in 1876, also noting "this revolver is not factory engraved but is in what is termed New York City style" engraving. I purchased this revolver and many other wonderful "One of a Kind" frontier single-action revolvers, from an "Old Town Station" catalog about 20 years ago. A Great Looking Old West Revolver. SOLD Antique: Yes |
