UNIQUE & RARE Antique BACON .32 Pocket Revolver Description: UNIQUE & RARE Antique BACON .32 Pocket Revolver 1 of ONLY 300 Produced Before Halted Due to Suit Here we present an antique Bacon “Removable Trigger Guard” Pocket Revolver, made circa 1861 in Norwich, Connecticut. Only 300 are estimated to have been made. This is an example of yet another revolver of which production was halted after Smith & Wesson successfully defended Rollin White’s Patent. This patent was for a completely bored through cylinder as we know revolvers to have to this day. This allowed for the use of straight cased metallic cartridges. This revolver is unique in that the entire barrel assembly must be removed in order to remove the cylinder for loading and unloading. This is accomplished by flexing the trigger guard downward at the back, then unscrewing it. This was definitely not the most effective design for someone having to reload in a fight, but the vast majority of folks were still using percussion revolvers at this time. The top of the barrel reads “BACON MFG. CO. NORWICH CONN.” Overall condition is near fine. The original blue finish is about 15% on the barrel. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The grips are smooth and solid. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is excellent. Here is a great example of a rare, obscure, unique revolver that was shut down by Smith & Wesson. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .32 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #5366 SOLD Antique: Yes |
