Description
Caliber is .32 S&W Short 5-shot cylinder. 3" round ribbed barrel. Full nickel plated. The design incorporates a solid frame that looks like it has a top-break action like the Smith and Wesson. The rear sight is incorporated into the cylinder catch pin with a milled slot. It has a pull pin cylinder release. Unique Safety on the rear of the receiver.
These were designed by Otis A. Smith and produced for Maltry & Henley Co. of New York.
Some of these were marked Spencer Safety Hammerless on the top of the barrel and some were marked Maltry and Henley of New York.
This revolver was made in the late 1800s They were only produced a few years and just a few thousand made , making them a truly RARE revolver. serial # 6052
Condition:
3” lightly frosted bore with moderate spot pin-prick pitting and still showing strong rifling. Metal finish is nice condition retaining some of the original factory nickel with finish loss exposing some of the brass frame under. Some light scratches and handling marks. Original floral pattern grips remain in excellent condition. Action is crisp, with a nice tight lock-up and timing. NOTE: The firing pin protrudes past the receiver which stops the cylinder from turning. You can manually push it back in and the firing pin spring appears to be fine. The pin looks to be bent from looking at the picture. ? No idea how to take this revolver apart . Maybe an easy fix?
