Colt 1849 Pocket Model .31 caliber revolver. Manufactured 1866 .31 caliber percussion revolver. This is a six-inch barrel, one-line New York address all numbers match. Note: backstrap has the inscription “S.M.C.Co No 6". Frame has approximately 70% case colors, barrel and cylinder have approximately 60-70% blue, cylinder has probably 80-85% blue. Perfect cylinder scene. Loading lever has 95% vivid case colors. Grip are very good with about 95% factory varnish and some handling marks. Action works and indexes perfectly. Screws are excellent with vivid nitre blue. This is a fine 1849 and some good research on the back strap inscription may prove it to be a bank or some company that required it’s employees to be armed.
