Here we present an antique Double Barrel, Over-Under Percussion Belt Pistol, made circa the 1850s in Europe. This would have likely been intended as a self-defense gun. The engravings on the frame of this pistol, along with the engraved brass, show that it was marketed to someone who wanted more than just a tool. The over/under configuration is highlighted by two separate percussion chambers, one for each barrel, as compared to a rotating barrel. The integrated ramrod fits neatly between the two barrels. The figured, carved walnut stock is also very nice. In its day, this little two shot over/under percussion pistol would have been a very handy self-defense weapon to keep around, having two shots to fire off instead of one! This pistol was likely worn on one’s belt or carried in a coat pocket!
The overall condition is good. The action is strong. The bores are good. Here is a nice over/under pistol for collection and display!
