Civil War Colt Revolver Model 1860 Army
Description:
Serial #43358, .44 caliber, 8" barrel with a very good bore that has some minor freckling within the grooves.
This 1863 manufactured revolver has nearly all matching numbers (no number is visible on the cylinder), including the wedge and cylinder arbor, with the metal having a mostly plum-brown patina throughout with spots of mild freckling and small impact marks scattered about (most noticeably on the exterior of the cylinder).
The brass triggerguard has a mixed yellow and brown-ochre patina with some brighter yellow on the exposed edges.
The walnut grips are in good shape but exhibit moderate wear with numerous handling marks and blemishes throughout and flattened areas where the cartouches presumably were originally.
The lock – up is still tight and the mechanism is fully functional with a bit of lateral play in the barrel.
This is a good looking 1860 Army and would make a nice addition to any collection.
