London Colt Model 1851 Navy Revolver Built in 1855
Description:
Serial #39088, .36 Caliber, 7 1/2" octagon barrel with a very good, bright bore that has mild pitting towards the muzzle. This is a handsome, 1855-made revolver that has an overall pewter gray patina with some small spots of scattered plum-brown freckling scattered throughout. Almost all numbers match, including the wedge and cylinder arbor, but the lever is numbered to a different gun ("3954"). The cylinder itself retains 80-85% of the naval scene, and the London proofs are crisp and clear. The walnut grip is in very good shape, with numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes scattered about the fairly thick added oil finish. The lock-up is still very tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a great looking London Navy, and is in very good-near fine condition overall. Antique;
