MANHATTAN FIREARMS "LONDON PISTOL COMPANY" PERCISSION REVOLVER
Description: This very nice revolver. It has a five-shot cylinder with 10 stops, that is chambered for .31 caliber. Single action percussion. Has a 4 inch octagon barrel with a very good bore. The metal surfaces of this revolver have mostly toned to a pewter, blue/nickel patina showing high edge wear and spots of light pitting scattered throughout. . The grip frame is silver plated with blued underneath; and the unitary, one piece grips are varnished walnut. The top of the barrel is stamped ,"LONDON PISTOL COMPANY". Has the "STAGE COACH" scene on the cylinder. Engraved frame with loose foliate scrolls in typical Manhattan fashion, cylinder roll engraved with stage coach hold up scene similar to that found on Colt Pocket Revolvers.Bottom of frame marked: "PATENTED/DEC.27,1859". The serial number #129, is found on all numbered parts,under grips on frame,on barrel, on rear face of cylinder and on wedge. GrIps are not numbered. Markings and engraving remain clear . Mechanically functional hammer nose is missing half of the nose. Very good bore with some pitting. I have included 20 pictures to demonstrate the condition.
