Manhattan Firearms Series V Navy Revolver Made 1868 Indian Wars Era
Description: *** SOLD JOHN IN BATON ROUGE *** Manhattan Firearms Company of New Jersey manufactured these Navy caliber percussion revolvers in five different series. This is a Series V, which had their own serial number range, made from early 1867 to late 1868. Only 9,000 of this series were produced. This one is serial number 8777, so it's near the end of production. 6 shot cylinder, blued and case hardened finish, brass trigger guard and back strap, walnut grips, 6.5" octagon barrel, single action revolver. Barrel has the two-line address correct for these late-model revolvers. Basically a smaller version of the Colt 1851 Navy, with the major difference being the 12-stop cylinder compared to the 6-stop cylinder of the Colt. CONDITION: All blued and case hardened surfaces have 2% original finish remaining that has turned patina. Good but pitted bore. Very tight action that locks up solidly at both half cock and full cock, indexing perfectly. Nice, mellow brass. Very good walnut grips retaining a good amount of the original varnish. Serial number matches on cylinder, grip, trigger guard, frame, barrel and wedge. Cylinder retains 50% of the scene. A decent Indian Wars/Post-Civil War percussion revolver that will nicely fill a hole in your collection. TERMS: Shipping to the Continental US States will be a flat $30 with insurance included. We are registered with the CA DOJ and will ship to California! No international sales, no sales to New York City, and no sales to Alaska or Hawaii. Antique so it can ship directly to you assuming your local laws allow it. 3 day non-firing inspection period; buyer pays return shipping. Payment by bank check, money order or personal check; all major credit cards are accepted with a 4% convenience fee added. Ships by USPS Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box with tracking.
