Top of barrel marked with the two line Remington address referencing patent in 1858. Full SN is under barrel,
on the rear of cylinder, and on left frame under the unnumbered wood grips. Major and minor components blued; brass trigger guard. (Fun Fact: William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody used an ivory-handled New Model Army .44, serial number 73,293, from 1863 until 1906, when he gave it to his ranch foreman with a handwritten note which said that, "It never failed me”.) Condition: The overall condition is Very good as custom engraved and later-period blued. Missing tensioning screw from front strap. Comparable condition grips with minor handling marks, the right panel having a noticeable bruise near the upper pole. Dull Bore with easily discernible rifling, patchy pitting.
