An Early & Scarce U.S. Military Issued Civil War Perussion Model 1860 Army Revolver Identified By Serial Number Directly First To "Private George T. Parsons, And Then To Private William D. Phipps, 19th NY Cavalry, (1st NY Dragoon, Co. H) In Very Good Untouched Condition. Serial # 124,297, all matching numbers. All original and complete. Made in early 1863. The revolver has very good metal and markings. It is fully U.S. Sub Inspected on all parts. The metal is in the gray and shows some peppering on it in spots. The cylinder scene is good showing some natural wear on it from use. The brass trigger guard has a nice mellow color to it. The grips on the gun are very good and have two visible U.S. Inspectors Cartouches n them. It has a very good action and bore.
Pvt. George T. Parsons Enlisted on August , 1862 and died of disease on December 18, 1864. He was issued the Colt Army Revolver on Sept. 25, 1863. He became sick on July of 1864 which is when the Colt was reissued to Pvt. Phipps who mustered out of the regiment on June, 30, 1865 at Cloud's Mills VA. The regiment lost 126 men and 4 officers in battle. They fought the entire war in VA. and were in 94 skirmishes and battles. These included Deserted House VA., Manassas VA, Todd's Tavern VA, Yellow Tavern VA, Cold Harbor VA, Trevillian Station VA, Petersburg, Deep Bottom, Newtown, Shepherdstown, Smithfield, Opequan, Winchester, New Market, Cedar Creek, Five Forks, & Appomattox Court House, VA. When Lee Surrendered.
