"Possible Sisterdale Revolver (AH4568)
Description: "Possible Sisterdale Revolver. Very interesting gun! The Sisterdale Revolver was a gun made by Alfed Kapp and his father Dr. Ernst Kapp in Sisterdale, TX. Alfred Kapp had worked in Colt’s operation. In approximately 1862, the Kapp’s, along with four other men, experimented in making handguns for the Confederacy. Six such guns were apparently manufactured and only one of those guns is definitively known to exist. For years it was on loan in a museum in New Braunfels, TX and then apparently was purchased from the family who had it on loan by legendary Texas collector Charlie Shreiner of the Y.O. Ranch fame. The gun then was purchased by legendary confederate collector Don Bryan back in approximately 1999. That famous Sisterdale Revolver recently sold in approximately 2015-2016 for around $250,000! This gun we have is very unusual by design and has a similar ratcheting system on the left side of the frame on the outside. A previous owner of the gun sent pictures to Don Bryan and he said he thought there were similarities. Since there are apparently 5 other guns that were made, maybe this is one of them? Or it could be a European made gun. In any case it is very interesting and comes with the letter from Don Bryan as well as information on the famous Sisterdale Revolver.
