1851 Colt Navy .36 cal . REVOLVER , manufacturered in 1862 , 4th Model. This revolver was in very high demand in the middle of the American Civil War. The numbers do not match but the gun looks to be original complete by the color of the blue and the patina the 2 parts have been together for years .The frame , the trigger guard , and the backstrap is number 124224 and the barrel and the cylinder is number 124930 , could have been a battlefield repair .
Over 250,000 of these Colt Navy revolvers were produced starting in 1851 . This Civil War Model was produced in 1862 and is the 4th model . These 1851 navies were very popular , 1st model sold in 1851 , they were sold to the Military , Texas Rangers and Frontiersmen .

This nice older Colt has Ivory Grips, on left side bottom the grip has chip broken out , looks to happened years ago , please see photos .The barrel has very good rifleing in the bore . Very good working condition and will shoot now as good as it ever did .
