Description: CIVIL WAR 1ST OHIO INFANTRY FACTORY INSCRIBED SMITH & WESSON OLD MODEL #2 ARMY REVOLVER CA. 1862-3. .32 RF caliber 5” very early Old Model #2 Army serial numbered in the 2xxx range and all original and matching. Factory engraved script on the side plate “CAPT. N. TRAPP/CO. G. 1ST O.V./INF”. Blued finish and factory rosewood grips. Excellent condition with 80% plus blue and grips with most of the original finish. Working order and good bore. Two pin early style top strap. Hinge excellent with no cracks. Minor loosening of the barrel hinge-easily fixed. Captain Nicholas Trapp served the Company Commander from 1861 when the 1st Ohio was formed thru 1864 when it was incorporated into another regiment. He was wounded in battle in 1863 at Mission Ridge, Tenn. 100% original in every respect and never on the market before. SOLD Antique: Yes |
