Civil War Starr Model 1863 SA Army Revolver
Description: Serial #29811, .44 Caliber, 8" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a small amount of freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and barrel assembly. The metal has an overall mottled pewter gray patina with traces of original blue remaining on protected areas, most noticeably on the rear of the frame beneath the recoil shield. Areas of plum-brown freckling are present throughout, especially along the top radius of the barrel. The original walnut grip is in fine shape, with minor handling marks scattered about the original oil finish. Visible US inspector cartouches are present on either side of the butt. The lock-up is still tight and the action is fully functional. This is a very good Civil War Starr revolver overall, and would make a nice addition to any collection. Antique; SOLD Antique: Yes |
