Colt Model 1861 Navy 36 cal Percussion Revolver

Genuine Civil War Era Colt 1861 Navy Revolver.
Ser#17653 made in 1864
Mechanically in very good shape. Smooth, crisp action, good timing and positive lockup.
Excellent cylinder chambers.
Nipples appear to have been recently replaced.
Slight cylinder end shake.
Nicely visible rolled naval scene.
7-1/2" barrel, gain twist rifling, with very good, perhaps even excellent bore, considering age and black powder. Complete, semi-bright rifling and grooves, with even, mild corrosion roughness from front to back. 
Unusual dovetailed sights are likely after-factory... must have been done a LONG time ago. 
Matching serial numbers.
original blue visible in protected areas. Some Silver apparent on grip frame with the grips removed.
A refreshingly nice old Colt, plenty capable of being shot and enjoyed for years to come.
