Engraved CIVIL WAR-Era Antique BACON Mfg. Co. PERCUSSION Pocket Revolver By Thomas Bacon of NORWICH, CONNECTICUT!
Description: Engraved CIVIL WAR-Era Antique BACON Mfg. Co. PERCUSSION Pocket Revolver By Thomas Bacon of NORWICH, CONNECTICUT! Here we present an antique Bacon Manufacturing Company Pocket Revolver, made circa the early 1860s in Norwich, Connecticut. Thomas K. Bacon was the founder of the company and was also involved with the Manhattan Fire Arms Co. as the superintendent. He also had business dealings with Ethan Allen and Allen & Thurber. When Manhattan moved their operation away from Norwich, Bacon left the company to stay behind and work on his own firearms manufacturing company. Part of Bacon’s contract with Manhattan included a “no-compete” clause that he would have been in violation of if the heads of Manhattan had bothered to sign the agreement. Nevertheless, they still took him to court with no official judgement recorded. Bacon’s arms were popular on the commercial market and many made their way onto Civil War battlefields upon being privately purchased by soldiers. Here is a nicely engraved Thomas Bacon revolver to add to your Civil War collection! The overall condition is good. The action (hammer/trigger) functions, although the cylinder does not index properly. The bore is in good shape. The crack in the right grip is stable and both grips remain firmly seated. All markings are legible. Here is a fantastic, lightly engraved, pocket revolver for display in the American Civil War Collection! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .31 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1250 #201061 SOLD Antique: Yes |
