RARE 1 of 300 CIVIL WAR Antique E. A. PRESCOTT .32 RF POCKET Model Revolver SERIAL NUMBER “192” with CIRCULAR SIDE PLATE
Description: RARE 1 of 300 CIVIL WAR Antique E. A. PRESCOTT .32 RF POCKET Model Revolver SERIAL NUMBER “192” with CIRCULAR SIDE PLATE Here we present an antique E. A. Prescott “Pocket” Model Revolver, made circa 1862-67, in Worcester, Massachusetts. This scarce Civil War revolver is estimated to be one of only three hundred that were made of each of the two styles (Belt and Pocket) made by Prescott. Although similar in appearance to the early Smith & Wesson revolvers, this revolver was manufactured with a solid frame. They were available in .22 or .32 caliber. The markings on both the Pocket and the Belt revolvers were the same. It was wartime and the United States stood divided. During a period of rapid industrial innovation, the firearms industry was one of the hottest. The war drove a huge market and many different makers, designs and patents appeared in a very short amount of time. Some of Colt’s most coveted patents expired in 1857, opening opportunities for other gun makers. The frame is nickel plated with a circular contoured side plate and the cylinder is a six shot with locking notches at the rear. The latch for the arbor is on the front of the frame. The overall condition is good. The action functions, but the cylinder does not aways lock up properly. The bore is in good shape and remain semi-bright with quite a bit of shimmer. Refinsihed in nickel. Both grips are firm with light handling wear. Makers address atop the barrel is worn. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .32 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1050 #233269 SOLD Antique: Yes |
