Scarce Full Martial Whitney Navy Revolver 19th PA Cavalry Range
Description: Whitney Navy Revolver, caliber .36 percussion, 6 shot cylinder with Whitneyville cylinder scene, 7.5" octagon barrel, single action, blued and case hardened finish, walnut stocks, brass trigger guard, serial number 14549 matches in all proper locations and falls in the range of a handful of Whitneys issued to Company K of the 19th Pennsylvania Cavalry. CONDITION: There is no bluing or case colors remaining except traces in the protected areas. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks and normal expected wear. Left grip retains traces of the inspector cartouche. Sub inspector initials apper on the trigger guard, left and right barrel flats at the chamber end, and loading lever flat by the serial number. Action functions crisply, is very tight with a strong hammer spring, positive clicks at half cock and full cock. Bore is an 8.5 of 10, sharp rifling with some wear and minor black powder pitting, still bright and shiny, should shoot just fine - have a competent gunsmith check it over first as it has not been test-fired. Loading lever is tight with no wobble. Cylinder retains 75% original scene which is very uncommon on a Whitney as the roll stamp was lightly applied and typically wore off quickly. This is a nice variation to add to your Civil War revolver collection. TERMS: Antique so no FFL required and can ship to an address of your choice.
