Historic Factory FITZ SPECIAL Colt Bankers special revolver.

The Fitz Gerald Special, "Fitz Special", or "Fitz Colt" is a snubnosed revolver concept that was pioneered by John Henry Fitzgerald (also known as "Fitz"), an employee of Colt Firearms from 1918 to 1944. Less than 100 said to have been made by Fitz. This was a special gun. It was loaned out several times to different company's which is stated in the factory letter. Revolver is in very nice condition with factory blue. .38 caliber with 2" barrel. Colt book only about 50 Bankers Specials were made as Fitz Specials.  Mr. Fitzgerald personally owned a Bankers Special with his famous modifications. This gun was probably Fitz personal revolver. Due to it being loaned out to serval different company's. Showing his masterful gun work. This is the only known Fitz special to have factory letter.
