Seller's Inventory #: C13559
Colt 1860 Army U.S. Army Issued Civil War .44 caliber revolver. Frame and grip strap match. Cylinder serial not visible due to medium pits. Note: Cylinder is certainly in keeping as to wear with the rest of the gun and we feel it most likely is correct to the gun. Action works correctly, grips have faint inspection cartouches. Bore has good rifling. The trigger guard and front grip strap have been polished. Note: There are two holes in the bottom of the grips for a leather lanyard loop. We have sold many military and old west guns with the same lanyard arrangement. The purpose is for the owner of the gun to tether it to his wrist so as not to drop it from horseback or in the heat of battle. Here is an 1860 Army that saw some real action!
