Colt 3" Barrel 1849 Pocket Model. Serial 171254. Very rare Colt 1849. In Robert M. Jordan’s book Colt’s Pocket “49, he list 3 serial ranges for the rare 3" barrel. He lists 17030 to 171800. This revolver is in the range. He also notes that the 6 shot cylinder 3" ’49 is extremely rare. This is a six shot cylinder. Note: This cylinder has no number in the serial band. The cylinder and the entire revolver are very sharp (cylinder scene is excellent). The metal all appears to be of equal color and wear. This cylinder may be original and failed to be numbered. The bore is excellent. Action works perfectly. Screws are all very good to excellent with none damaged. Grips are very good plus to excellent. No chips or cracks. This is a two line, 3" barrel six shot 1849. If you collect 1849’s you most likely don’t have this!
