Belgian COLT BREVETE Antique “BROOKLYN BRIDGE” M1849 POCKET Revolver Copy
CASED Percussion EUROPEAN SIX-SHOOTER w/ACCESSORIES
Description: Belgian COLT BREVETE Antique “BROOKLYN BRIDGE” M1849 POCKET Revolver Copy CASED Percussion EUROPEAN SIX-SHOOTER w/ACCESSORIES Here we present an antique Cased Belgian Colt Brevete “Brooklyn Bridge” Model 1849 Pocket Percussion Colt Model 1849 Revolver copy, made circa the late 1800s likely in Liege, Belgium. The “Brooklyn Bridge” revolvers were basically a copy of the Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver. Revolvers similar to this example are described in “Colt Brevete Revolvers” by Marcot and Paxton on p. 298-307. They are so-named due to the suspension bridge scene often roll marked on the cylinder, which collectors have since dubbed the Brooklyn Bridge. The Model 1849 Pocket, the replacement for the Baby Dragoon, was the most widely produced of any Colt percussion pistol. Nearly 340,000 were manufactured during its 23-year production run that ended in 1873. Over 280,000 of these were produced by Colt’s factory at Hartford by the end of the American Civil War in 1865. These were very popular and saw a lot of use on the battlefield, on the home front and in the West. These were some of the smallest, handiest pocket revolvers of the time. The overall condition is fair. Gray patina and much use apparent. The action is functional though the cylinder timing is a bit off so manual assistance is necessary to run the action. The bore is dark and dirty. The grips are horn. The case is nice and in good condition as are all the accessories. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 4 inches. Caliber: .31 percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2000 #227558 SOLD Antique: Yes |
