Civil War Used Colt Model 1860 Army 44 Cal Revolver Made 1863
Description: Colt Model 1860 Army 44 caliber percussion revolver serial number 128334 made 1863. Although not a direct hit on the SRS list, there are about 20 other Colts nearby that were issued to the 4th Kentucky Cavalry; there's a good chance it stayed there after the war. The condition is common of firearms from the humid Southeast - darker color, pitting and staining. All the numbers match except for the wedge, which has the last 3 digits of 225. Hammer screw, wedge screw and loading lever screws are replacements. Action is tight but hangs at times on the cylinder stop. Bore has good rifling and needs the accumulated junk of time removed. Cylinder has some scene remaining. End of muzzle shows holster wear. Sub inspector initials include an "H" on the trigger guard and back strap, a single "C" on the barrel and "CC" on the cylinder. The main inspector cartouches are of Robert H. K. Whiteley on the left grip and John Taylor on the right grip. Grip shows light wear and a small chip loss at the lower left front corner. Cylinder is missing one nipple. Representative Civil War 1860 Army that certainly spent some time with a Union Trooper. TERMS: Shipping to the Continental US States will be a flat $25 with insurance optional and additional if requested. We do ship to California! No international sales.
