Colt 2nd Model Dragoon .44 Cal - Very Rare - Mfg. 1850
Description: For sale we have a rare Colt 2nd Model Dragoon revolver in .44 Caliber. The successor to the famed Walker Colt, the Dragoon was manufactured in three models from 1848-1861, with the second model being by far the most rare version, only 2700 manufactured in 1850-51. The Dragoon Colt pistols were heavily used on the frontier and the Civil War, and are generally only encountered in very poor condition. This model is an 1850 manufactured piece with brass grip frame, one-piece walnut grips with barely visible cartouche on left grip panel, six-shot percussion cylinder with visible Texas Ranger/Indian fight scene, US marked frame, and 7-1/2" barrel. Serial numbers match, although the cylinder has been restamped. Gun is mechanically excellent, and chambers/bore are very clean for the vintage.
