Colt Model 1851 Navy
Colt Model 1851 Navy Revolver. This is an excellent example of an early third model 1851 Navy. Serial number 12791 is matching throughout the gun. Manufactured in 1852, the gun has the early features & markings of the beginning 1st & 2nd Square Back trigger guard Models (save the reverse wedge & notched cylinder pin of the 1st Model). Variation has the small Colt’s Patent on the frame, the small notch on the barrel lug, no knurling on the loading lever latch, Heavy silver plating on the back strap and trigger guard, left side loading lever hinge screw and New York City address. The gun barrel is an overall blue/plumb color. The bottom barrel flat is mostly blue. The gun is actually blue in outdoor natural lighting. The straps retain approximately 90-92% of their silver plating. Maybe more. The frame is the smoky gray color. The cylinder appears to me to have all of its crisp cylinder scene and is gray…which is the norm from washing and handling after firing. The grips are fine with approximately 80% of the varnish. There some very small dings on the butt only. The action works perfectly. Smooth surfaces…no pitting, dings, dents, etc. It was handled with care. Well taken care of during its life. The bore is fine with nice lands and grooves and rates 7-8? 2650.00. Honoring 3 day inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Accepted payment methods are Money Orders & Certified/Bank Checks Only. NO Credit Cards, Debit Cards or PayPal Accepted.
I have additional complete cylinder scene photos available if needed. Thanks.
